Transgenic technologies

In the platform project ““transgenic technologies”” we will improve and standardize the methods embryo transfer, cryopreservation, in vitro fertilization and revitalization of two-cell stage embryos and sperms of transgenic mouse lines.

Technical staff will be trained in these techniques to make them available for all projects in the SFB894. Furthermore, different aggregation methods (morula aggregation/tetraploid embryo complementation) for the fast production of mutant mouse lines directly from embryonic stem cells should be established.

The intention of the project is to achieve a more efficient and cost-saving organization with regard to the maintenance and breeding of different mouse lines that are used in almost all projects of the SFB 894.
