CAPS Protein and secretion

Both the Ca²⁺-dependent release of hormones from neuroendocrine cells and the Ca2+-dependent secretion of lytic granules from cytotoxic T lymphocytes are mediated or regulated by a plethora of proteins.

We would like to investigate the function of the "Ca²⁺-dependent activator protein for secretion (CAPS)" in these processes.

We will use single and double knockout mice to clarify how CAPS mediates the maturation of granules in chromaffin cell and cytotoxic T lymphocytes.
