Transgenic technologies

Most projects of the CRC 894 are working with transgenic mouse models to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of Ca2+ signals in cells as well as in the whole organism. Many of these genetically altered mouse lines are unique and exist worldwide only in our animal facility. Therefore, we want

1) to cryopreserve our transgenic mouse lines within the CRC 894 to prevent the animals against contamination and loss due to genetic drift or any disaster,

2) to generate new mouse models based on the C57BL/6 background and thereby establish suitable conditions for the culture of C57BL/6 ES cells and  

3) to generate novel ROSA26 reporter mouse strains for Cre-dependent genetic Ca2+ imaging.
